4. MEMBERSHIP AND HOW TO PARTICIPATE

MEMBERS

For this, we need members who understand our concept and firmly believe in it. We need members who understand that there are so many people in this world who are not as fortunate as we are, and members who are willing to work with full dedication towards our concept.

We will give as much time and effort as we can to our club.

INFORMATION SESSIONS

Also, after understanding that there are many people who would want to join the club after it is fully functional, we have decided that we would conduct information and query solving sessions at regular time intervals.

Membership Criteria

There are no criteria for membership as such (except that only Raheja BMS students allowed at the moment. We will definitely open the club for everyone, but it will take time.)

But yes, one thing that is required is commitment and dedication. It is fine if number of members is low. But each member should be so committed that he is equal to ten. He must have that inner urge to support the cause. After a lot of discussion, we came to conclusion that when a person is admitted as a member, he first needs to specify HIS/HER reason for joining the club. Then he would have to look after (ONLY) ground work till the time the group members come to a consensus that the person is committed.

Third (rather insignificant) requirement is that each member is required to pay a sum of Rs. 20 each month after his registration as a member.

NON-MEMBER VOLUNTEER

To help people decide whether they can work dedicatedly or not, and to give them a feel of what we do, we have kept a special provision for non-member volunteer. A person under this can take part in one or two of our projects and meetings to get the ‘feel’ of it and then decide whether he wants to commit to become a member or not.

These will be special projects.

MEETINGS

Meetings will be held on every SUNDAY at 7 AM in “Gurukul”.

People not attending meetings must inform in advance and give their reason for not attending. Then, the members will arrive at a consensus whether the reason is acceptable or not.

There can be flexibility in meetings regarding the venue, if suggested by a member. But the reason for change in venue has to be informed in previous meeting and has to be approved again by consensus.

Other suggestions are also welcome.

RATIONALE BEHIND RULES

We are proud of our concept and for what we are doing. And we feel every one of us must feel so. We understand that being more flexible is possible. But we do not want anyone to take this club, its concept or its working for granted.

We believe in making it as a ‘Routine’ of our lives. When we know it is a Sunday, we know it is ‘Against Nature Club’.

As rightly said by Sanju, “We have our daily pooja. We do not miss it because we are getting late or if we have to go for a presentation. Similarly, this is our pooja from now”.

There are also some basic ethics/understanding by which the club will work:

v Each one of us is equal.

v Everyone’s opinion has to be respected and listened to.

v Suggestions/changes in ANYTHING are welcome as long as they improve the club.

v We all respect what we are doing.

v All of us will try to be as honest as possible when we discuss anything.

v No personal grudges here.

v NO EGO

NOTE:

To become a member : In order to join the club this week (so that you can attend the meeting on this Sunday), you need to take part actively in this week’s projects. We have a project on 26^th Jan. To take part in that project, you will need to inform anyone of the members that you’re becoming a member this week before 24^th Jan.

Request for Information Session : You can request for information session if you have any queires or want to know more about the club. We will be able to conduct the session only after atleast a few people request. We cannot do it for 1 or 2 people. But, if only 1 or 2 people only are there, we can arrange that one of us explains you in personal.

Non-member Volunteer : For becoming a non-member volunteer also you need to tell anyone of us and register. And after some few people register, we will take up special projects for them and then, you can attend the meetings.

Suggestions : We welcome your suggestions / ideas. Even if you are not a member, we would like to know what you think about “the Club, its functioning, rules and procedures, projects, ideas, website…anything”. But we request you :

Do not give your suggestions to anyone at anytime.

Try to post your suggestion / idea of our webiste, forum, or email us at : luvparin@gmail.com

If not, inform anyone of us that you have a suggestion / idea. That person will note down the suggestion / idea. We will then take up all of them in our next meeting and then inform you about ‘What we discussed on your suggestion’.

Please do not start discussing your suggestions / ideas with the person immediately. Give all the members time to think and discuss your idea.
