we went on our first trip in April 2006 (Khadavli)
KHADAVLI
Khadavli was in the last year in the month of April.
It is a place very near to Mumbai, surrounded by river on 3 sides. But the timing was bad. It was too hot and all of us ate too many Cucumbers and sugarcane juices. We had a DHASU plan and it failed badly.

….a small trip to Khadavli
(Outside Mumbai near Bhiwandi)
I was not planning to go there as New Year was on the next day. But it is said that no one can stop one when one has to go. O man, after going there I can say that those didn’t come missed nothing; but yes something. What to say-Hey whtzz up…………
It was planned by our seniors (5 of them) they took us to Bhiwandi from an S.T.Bus. That experience was also meaningful as we never travel by such buses. We always prefer luxury buses i.e. ac or non-ac.
Their one of the senior told us the central idea of such environmental trips. They wanted us to know more about what India actually comprises of “The real India”, “The true feel”& “The Nature”.
The schedule for the trip was planned by our seniors very well. But the fun started when the planned stuff didn’t worked well. It was
Disappointing but at least I enjoyed that. Answering the Question such as-What to do next? What is preferable at the moment? How to do things now? Will it work…..things keep on asking questions.
I think my seniors were very well prepared to make us feel good.
So we were supposed to begin with watching bullock cart race and then riding on it. But the race was supposed to start late and we could not wait there so long. So we decided to move.
We were told that the place were we are going to stay is a farmhouse kind but……it was like a cottage types .You can say a very small house. But there too living in such place was so much fun.

Than what we expected
But it was still so fun”
Actually before moving towards to “the site”- the place were stayed we had our “nashta”. As the day was ending due to which our moments were under lighted by our seniors.
The water which was available rather provided was underground water which really had its own taste. The water was drawn from a pumping system at that place which was at 2 mins distance from our sight. The pump machine to draw water attracted us.
The place “Khadavli” was very hot it was on its boiling point. One friend of mine had a dairy milk chocolate which he carried through the journey got into chocolate liquid like the normal packed chocolate syrup. Now the people would definitely drink any water provided.
“But seriously the water was pure & hygienic
And I think the impurities weren’t in the water
But in our minds.”
Lighting arrangements were made after some dark got into our minds. Though it was scary enough but a person from the ‘Mahin Nature Park’ who accompanied us told - if one can, one would be able to see the friends who were around us at least that much light is present right now.
Few seniors who when in dark for getting the bulb came after sometime. Till that time we were supposed to make noise and move torches for them to know we were here it was jet dark at 6.30 in evening.

But it had its own energetic tempo”
In the night we had decided that after having dinner we would have a campfire. One of guys started digging for the fire. Few chatting, few collecting the wood. Then campfire lighted every body and everyone danced. It was a very happening moment of the day which enlightens everyone present over there. Then the campfire was in the phase of extinguishing then our energy to dance also came down in some cases. Then the person from Mahim Nature Park started sharing his thoughts and telling more of nature.
All were feeling sleepy, slowly slowly everyone started lying down and then slowly went too sleep also but few were still listening and that person was still speaking then he said its high time and now everyone should sleep.
But two or three of us were still in mood to listen, they requested him and they still continued. Those who were sleepy went to sleep and few were busy chatting amongst them. Talking about ghosts….
Due to that talk few who were sleepy didn’t sleep at all entire night, while few were busy looking around they were attracted with the surroundings. I think everyone behaved different that night.

There is too much heat in the afternoon and evening when we came but at night o god too cold. But as instructed by our senior we carried our blanket and a sweeter. Still there was one guy who didn’t have sweeter his friend provided it there. But in early morning even he thought about his decision of giving his sweeter.
The cold was too cool for the one with sweaters.

Morning came with a call i.e. the first call. It was at the station and we were 15 to 20 mins away. Then after sometime we came back we were four of us. When we reached we came to know that we again had to go back as the bathing was to be done at the river which was near to the station again a long walk. People then had bath enjoyed the cool water as by that time it was too hot.
We return back to our site changed the clothes, packed bags, and time for lunch called us again near the station.
“This time too”
But this time we went to the station by the boat. This was the most beautiful part of the trip. What a scene of nature it was!!
“Just too good”
Boating was very much enjoyable. We sang too ‘besure’ songs. Yelling and screaming in the boat.
In the mid way our boat dashed to a stone in the river and then we were like “My heart will go on…..”
Then we had our lunch got ready a bit and were ready to board a train.
“Nice trip and the journey to return Mumbai was sad
As I thought the fun ended
But no I was wrong
It was still the beginning…”

hi all..khadavli was a great trip..the place is really nice..ekdum khali jagah hai, thodi si sunsaan hai aur raat ko 3 baje jab sab bhooto ki kahaniya discuss karne baithe the tab daravni bhi lag rahi thi!!humne hand pump se pani nikal kar piya, datun se brush kiya, lake me masti ki, ek rickshaw me 8 log gaye,camp fire me nache, s.t. bus me gaye, bahut se loche hue par on the whole bahut mazaa aaya..

Khadavali was one of the best and most enjoyable trip i have ever had in my life though i didnt go to kolad due to my presentation i missed nt gng there a lot…
